Don't Hold Your Breath, But...

My winter break is coming up soon (in just over a week!), and rolling around in the back of my head are some tentative plans to finally write about my summer vacation!  It seems sort of sad to be writing about my summer vacation during my winter vacation (both because of the long wait and because if I have time to write I'm probably not adventuring instead), but I've been meaning to post about it for a long time (half a year is it, now?) and just keep being busy.  Here's to happy holidays and best wishes for a year of better posting on my part ahead!  Cheers!

Snow in Gunsan

Fortunately, I keep my bicycle inside, so it suffered no such fate.

I do believe that's cabbage chilling there.

Thanksgiving 2013

I went to a chicken and beer restaurant with some of my coworkers for Thanksgiving. As you can see, the "beer restaurant" part was not hyperbole.

Afterwards we headed to a pool place to play pocketball. It was a white Thanksgiving.

MacDo

There's been a banner outside my apartment lately advertising the advent of a new McDonald's in our neighborhood. Previously there was only one in Gunsan and it was a 40 minute ride by bike to get there. I don't go there very often, but even when I do I can easily justify the calories because my calorie consumption is always sandwiched by some decent exercise. But now there will be Double Quarter-Pounders with Cheese right around the corner from me...and in winter, too, when it's too cold, icy, and snowy to ride my bike a lot! Good thing I am so busy all the time, or this could prove to be disastrous for my health!

You Know You've Been Working Too Much When...

Other Expat Teacher: My church is having a meal on Thanksgiving if you want to come. Do you guys have to work that day?

Me: I dunno...what day of the week is it?
